After 27 long hours of traveling, we arrived safely. For those who know how much I am loved by blooding sucking insects, I can say that I got my first insect bite in the airport in San Pedro Sula, inside two sets of doors! It has been okay since then.
West End (the town where we are staying) is a unique mixture that reminds me partly of a South American village with its laid back feel, Hondurans coming in for groceries on horseback and Manhattan, with horns honking and pedistrians competing with the trucks, scooters, motorbikes and cabbies in a one lane potholed dirt main street. Remarkable.
So far we have managed to drag ourselves from the pool to the hammack and into West End for lunch. Currently I am sitting at an Internet cafe sipping beer and trying to wait patiently for the pages to load. By patiently I mean you can drink a beer waiting inbetween pages!! Nothing and no one moves quickly here!!!
All is well and we shall keep you posted. I wasn't able to upload pics on this computer. I will try again later to add pictures from the computer where we are staying.
